? how do I get a trans code ?
Hey I was wondering how you check or scan the code on a 1994 IDI auto trans with overdrive? I go to a vo-tech class in high school and they have some scan tools but I didnt no if it was a certain one or what tool you use to do it, or where or how you exactlly do it, this might sound like a dumb question but I was wondering what kind of code it is like if its like a number code or more like a test for power, and if the tool shows the code or if it shows up on the dash or what Thanks

you need an OBD I scan tool with a ford connector
the OBD I connector is located on the left fender apron
one large plug and one small plug
use the directions for your particular scan tool to operate it but hold the throttle at wide open before and during the test otherwise you will set a false fipl code (fuel injector lever sensor TP in otherwords) codes are read in a sequence first there are any hard fault codes then the seperator code 10 any codes after the 10 are memory codes
