Axle ID help please?

I'm now thoroughly confused as to what rear end I have under my 78 F250. I've looked at a million pics and stuff online. But mine has this weird "channel" that runs around the diff opening and the cover. Hard to explain. Hopefully you fellas know what this is.
Top view looking forward:

I can't find and numbers, markings, or anything anywhere on this beast. Trying to identify so I can order my rear disc conversion brackets.
