Wheel size question...

Hey there,

Currently have 265/75/16 stock wheels and tires on my '01 F350 2WD.
If I find a set of wheels (eg. 20" Harley Davison stock Ford wheels) would I be able to fit them on my truck without lifts or anything?

Sorry for the dumb question, but that's what I love of about this place.....most are gentle with the dummies

Cheers,

Mike

As long as you go bigger there should be no issue with clearance on the brakes. Offset should be OK if you stick with stock wheels of different sizes. Tire clearance (if you need a lift or not) is all about the tire, not the wheel. If you pick a tire that fits, you won't need a lift.

Thanks Brian,

Have no plans to increase tire size, so I should be good to go.

To be clear, I am saying overall tire diameter and width, not size - the size is obviously going to be different if only because the wheel diameter is going to be different. I would start by picking the wheels, say you get 18" stock wheels, then go and find out what stock tire sizes were available with that wheel diameter. On my 17" wheels they had 245/75 and 265/75, and 285/75 on slightly wider stock 17" wheels. You could use that as the basis for picking a tire that will fit well.

You are going to want to make sure that that is off a 2004 Harley Davidson Ford not a 2005 to 2010 Harley Davidson Ford as I believe the 05-now wheels will now fit an 01. I believe it is 99-04 that will fit on your 01 I think it is the offset that is wrong and you will need wheel spacers which is not the best idea to have.
