Maybe a different dealer should put in this next engine?? Or, maybe more than just the long block needs to be replaced. There is definitally something else going on here, and the dealership is missing it. Yes, the end result is a dead engine. However, the fly in the ointment is whatever is causing it. I think a computer needs to be hooked up to monitor the new engine, to see exactly what is happening and when. It should stay in the vehicle. It could be a great learning tool for Ford also, to see what causes a worst case scenario.

This is a tough engine that has not had a lot of complete failures, so it is quite obvious that something else is at play. Frankly, if I were Ford, I would give him a new truck and take this one back to Dearborn to dissect and figure out. They could learn something, and have a happy customer.
I do agree there is something else that is causing these failures...and it is sad that they cannt find out what it is aside from replacing the motor!

The only thing thatI can think of, would be an extreme lean situation. Has the high output pump been checked?? DI runs at very high fuel pressures. Of course, it could be a computer issue which does not allow the pressure to be bumped when high demand situations occur.

Fuel or computer/fuel is about all I can think of, that would cause a situation like this.

With gauges going haywire I would imagine that the computer system has issues.

Hello all.

My apologies for not stopping in and posting.

If you guys have any specific questions for me fire away.

Like was mentioned before I do a 2 week shift at work and my last 2 shifts have been extremely busy.

And like you guys have posted engine 3 has grenaded. Initially I thought ford was going to get me out of this truck. I'm sorry to say that's not happening at this time.

They're going to have a ford engineer look at the truck. I've been told this may take a week before that can happen.

I'm still kicking around. I'm still disappointed. I'm still not a troll. :P

Just read both the long threads on the other site. Wow, what a run around. Good luck with getting it solved. Making me think twice about a new F150. My 2000 PSD is still rock solid so should keep it longer.

You should be using CAMVAP. Google it for more info. Buyback is the only way to go. I'm not a member on the other forum so can't post there. I can't see any mention of CAMVAP either.

want to see/hear a possible outcome from this. The EB motor really intrigues me. Wife and I have been discussing buying a used Flex with this motor and the AWD.

Well you won't because they locked the thread...I guess there was some information that he was not sharing with people that could have contributed to it? (not my words...words of the moderator on that site) Unless he is going to post and let us know.

There is another thread they started over there with fewer attack posts from 'new members' directed there from other sites. I think his last update was they expected to have the engine rebuilt (long block) by this Friday.

I figured I'd update this thread over here. Ghost got engine number 4 installed and traded it on a supercharged Raptor:

I know this is an old post, but I couldn't resist...
