Noob Says Hello & Needs Recommendations
Hello Everyone, I'm from the Kitchener-Waterloo area and I've just bought a new-to-me '01 F250 diesel and I'm quite excited about it. I've been a FTE member for a number of years because of my Ford based RV but have not crossed over to the pickup side until now.
For the past few weeks I've been hanging out in the Superduty and 7.3 Diesel forums soaking in as much info as I can ... boy there's lots to learn ... especially for me not being a seasoned wrencher.
Question: I see there are lots of mechanical shops and part suppliers in the USA for the Superduty's generally and the 7.3 diesels specifically. Are there any shops and/or suppliers within a decent distance around the Guelph, Cambridge, K-W area that come highly recommended as knowing their stuff (mechanically) and being reasonable with pricing (parts)?
Also, I saw the pics from the FORD truck show ... very nice. Is there a date and location set for 2013 yet?
Cheers for now. ~ Bugjr ~

Welcome to the ontario chapter.
Sorry I'm not much help on the Power Smoke questions hopefully somebody can chime in. Blackstock Ford in Orangeville was a sponsor here and sold some tricked out trucks but beyond that I'm not aware of suppliers in your area.
As for the Ford-Mercury truck Nationals, they are in Arthur Ontario every August. August 17 & 18 this year.
details here ; The Classic Ford Truck Club
A thread will likely start up soon to figure out who is going this year. It's not a huge show but well orginized and very good people.

Howdy Bug... me to and the old girl will be there with my chain. lol K-W area eh. I was born an raised there. King and Shanley sts. and Forest Heights ( Glen Avon Cres.) A few other areas as well. The show in Arthur is small compared to others BUT.. it is getting bigger. The ppl that run it and and the attendees are just awsum. The only problem I found is that accomodations for over nite stays are lacking ( unless you go RVing, camping etc.). We will keep you informed as the date gets closer. Thanks for posting the Dates Frank, hope to see you all there this year. John

tkeyla67... If you are entering you must have a Ford or Mercury TRUCK. No cars are allowed in this one. Any year truck is good to go and anyone and everyone is welcome. A lot of the guys from FTE are there on the Friday and camp for the weekend. I am sure someone else will chime in with more info. August 17 and 18. Check out the post above.^
