All depends on if you fully discharge them a lot.
A battery will stay good for a long time when taken care of well, but if you put a huge draw on them and discharge them almost fully, it will screw them up.
I've heard to store batteries discharged, but I don't believe that would be a good truth to it.
But then the weird thing is, battery conditioners discharge batteries to recondition them.
Most bad batteries just require reconditioning. They will never be 100%, but the batteries most people replace are perfectly fine, just need to be reconditioned.
There should be some youtube video's on it.
I should go watch some actually.
