spark plug removal and replacement

spark plug removal and replacement

i am changing the sparkplugs in my 2001 ford expedition with a v8 5.4 l engine and was wondering how to access the four plugs to the rear of the engine. can i remove the injector rail without messin anything up or is there a special appliction i have to do before i do so?

Remove the fuel rail.

There are dozens of how-to's and videos available to help with this project. You don't necessarily have to remove the fuel rail. Just depends on your tool assortment in your toolbox. I use a 3/8" flex-drive extension and U-joints, and smaller stuff to get the 7mm coil retaining screws out. Some people put pads on the fenders and a piece of plywood across to lay out on. Just depends on your situation and reach. Do a search on the subject and you'll find tons of ideas.
