Just the other day noticed a whistle noise or a whinning noise while I'm accelerating. Sounds like its coming from from the front passenger side, not sure. Any ideas?
I had the same issue, found a split in the bellows on the up pipe to the turbo. Go under your truck and look for black soot on the pipes, or just after starting run your hand along the pipes and you should feel the leak.
Sounds like your idle air control valve, it's located on the back of the intake by the firewall. it will eventually whistle more and more and drive you nuts. If I remember correctly I could make it stop by squeezing the inlet air hose leading to it. It's a little tricky to get to but fairly cheap and only 2 or 3 small screws/bolts hold it on.
The whistling noise seems to be amplified through the intake tube ,I believe that's why when I pinched the inlet tube it stopped. I wouldn't drive it like that but it's a quick test.
All great ideas, turns out I'm just an idiot because the whistle noise is frequency coming through my new speakers. Put an entire system into the truck and obv did somthing to get an engine frequency noise. The noise goes away when I shut off the deck...or turn it up
No ,you're not an idiot, an idiot would blame ford for their mishap. You on the other hand had to know what the problem was and figured it out. Always more gratifying that way.
