I could use a little advice.

I am building a 1986 Ranger. It is a 4WD extended cab XLT. I am transplanting a 1983 2.2L Mazda/Perkins diesel mated to a 1988 Mitsubishi 5 speed and a Borg Warner transfer case.

Here's where I need a little help. The boot/dust seal on top of the 1988 Mitsubishi 5 speed (where the shifter enters) is bad. Unfortunately, the part is obsolete, and I haven't been able to find a NOS or aftermarket replacement. Does anyone have a source for this, or have a creative solution I can make myself?

I believe Dodge sold a compact truck made by Mitsubishi in the early 80's. They may be able to help you locate the part you need.

Another possibility is tracking down parts for Ranger's FM transmissions (IIRC, they were made by Mitsu).

LMC Truck may also be able to help you.
