2000 F150 4.6l triton
I have a 2000 Ford F150 with a 4.6l Triton engine. my problem is i had a miss and the catalytic converter on the drivers side turns cherry red.
I replaced all the cats and new pipe, o2 sensors, EGR valve all new.
the cat is still turning cherry red and missing after driving it about a mile
what could be causing this? I searched the forums and im stumped.

Listen closely,
The red cat is the result of cylinders on that bank missfireing.
The fuel injection does not stop.
Raw gas is being burned in the cats and melting them.
You never replace a cat from this condition without 'first' clearing the missfire or you will spend money like water learning a hard expensive lesson.
Certainly with missfire to this degree there will be a CEL on and code set to tell you which cylinders are out as well as power is down.
You simply cannot keep driving with a condition like this.
Good luck.
