Is this too much for Line-X?
I requested a quote from my local line-x shop. I have a fab fours elite steel rear bumper for my 2012 super duty. I wanted to have it color matched to the pale adobe color on the bottom of the truck. I was told $450. I was a little surprised by that considering they did line x premium black in bed last year for $430. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are who have had the color matched line x done. Is it too much? Should I ask another shop? Thanks.

A steel bumper is a relatively small job, and because you are doing the color match, there is a different base Line-x color (think of matching base coat). All that colored product needs to come out of the lines and gun prior to doing the next 'premium black' bed liner. Wasted product = higher price for the project. Check around and don't be afraid to dicker with the shop to see if there is anything they can do. Consider a regular black coat for a contrast- should cost much less. Also find out how they prep the bumper- and whether they do both inside and outside of the bumper. If is is completely enclosed, there is less chance of chipping, peeling. Also remember most Line-x shops will not provide a 'lifetime warranty' like they do on the bed liners. Some advice from a former Line-x Store Manager. Great Product- hope this helps.

Seems like a little high to me too but i guess if its a "perfect" color match probably worth it
I had both of my new Bumper's PowderCoated for $450 total, its not an "exact" match but its very very close. What i like about PC is that you can have a rough texture or smooth, since mine has a pearl in it the only option was smooth so it looks like paint....Just a thought
I do agree LineX is a good product, ive had it in 3 truck's now

I agree about the powder coating- huge variety of colors, and probably more durable. Line-x is a great product, it is just when you try to do stuff other than bed liners or lining (undercoating) a cab or bed or something, it gets complicated. I have sprayed Line-x on everything from trailer floors and toy haulers to truck racks and Jeep grilles and fender extensions.
