My truck is a 2007 F150 5.4 with 83,000 miles. It has the 4r75e tranny. The truck is shifting and driving fine but when I parked it after driving to a friends house I noticed a very large puddle of AFT under the truck. After closer inspection the leak appears to be coming from inside the bell housing. In the matter of 7 miles I lost at least 4qts of fluid. It appears to be the front pump seal. Anyone out there ever delt with this issue and if so what was your outcome.

 

Similar,... Output/aft seal/bearing on my older (92) F-150. But I was on the road...out of state. The seal must be repaired, and expect the labor charge to be large-more for a 4x4. Never had another problem after that though.

 

It was indeed the front pump seal. Replaced by family friend's shop. Kinda a strange failure since the seal doesn't have a lot of hydraulic pressure behind it. Shop owner stated the increased line pressure from the tuner didn't have anything to do with the failure, which is good news for all with an Edge. I will need to take the truck back unfortunately because the starter is grinding on start up and the transfer case tail shaft seal is now leaking. When it rains in pours!
