Has anyone received a recent email from Ford Service? it states you have to get your first oil change at 1500 miles, but only for the 2013 5.0L engines.... I have not received one, but a number of other users on some other forums have stated this.

I had also received a similar email yesterday morning and when I called my dealer the service writer I spoke to said "he was just informed this was a precautionary measure". I asked him precautionary in what regard? He replied "on inspection, some of the 5.0L engines had an excessive amount of media in the oil pan". With this I asked was it metal? He replied "he was not told what type of media it was, but it only is for the 5.0 and only a select number of engines". With this he made my appointment and I am getting it changes tomorrow.

Anyone else know about this? Seems as most service departments have not been made aware of this, but some users only got the email today.

I have a 2013 SCrew , XLT with 856 miles on it, have not recieved the email about recomended 1500 mile oil change. Please get back on here after your oil change and keep us informed about the outcome.

No need to be concerned about the original issue posted.

The original forum it originated in verified it as a email hoax.

 

Thanks Greg I an glad that it is a HOAX as this 5.0 L V8 in this F150 is one sweet , Smooooth, powerfull engine and I am more than happy that I got it rather than the EB,.....glad that you cleared that up !!

 

Yeah, It had alot of us NEW 5.0 users worried. Was kind of a sick joke, in my opinion

I am very happy with my 5.0. i've had the 4.6 2V, and the 3.7 V6, and the 5.0 is such a smoother engine.

 

Didn't know that people needed an e-mail to get them to change their oil.

Changed the oil on my 11' 5.0 at 1200 miles!

What is the problem?

 

You obviously didn't read the original post and what it was supposed to be for...

 

I have a 2013 5.0L and never got that email...but I always do the first change at about 1500 miles anyway.

 

hi I live in Belleville Canada 2013 5.0 f150 just got my oil changed at 1200 km dealer thougt I was nuts but im old school initial break in something has to wear off some flashing

 

While in theory the engines are spotless when assembled and spun for initial break-in, it is cheap insurance IMHO as I always change oil out in a new vehicle at 500 miles.
