Any body ever swap a six speed into an automatic truck? The only advice I've been able to find is 'don't unless you have a donor'. Well,,,,, I have a donor. After I figured out my 250's engine was dusted, I bought this 350 auto. I love it, but am weighing my options for disposing of the 250. It's all there. It all works good except for the dusted engine. Whole thing's only got 125,000 miles on it. Thought maybe I'd keep the transmission and related parts just in case this 4r100 ever goes left. Whayallthank?

 

there was a right up if you search you can find it.
you will need to cut the floor out and weld it in to the 4r100 floor as the zf6 is taller, and many wires to fix to make the truck run.
not worth the work to me.

 

Thanks, 'Doc! I'm an avionics tech, so wires don't scare me. Sheetmetal, on the other hand... Maybe instead of stashing the ZF6 I'll just sell it and stash the cash! I wouldn't have thought about the floorpan being different since it has the holes for the clutch master. Must be two different pieces of sheet. That little plastic blank sure does make a great place for wires.
