I believe most would be white like the grill, and also sure Mr. Wilson will say something different.

All steel headlight doors on the light duty trucks were white.

Yes but one of mine(came off donor truck)is chrome one is aluminum(also off donor)so all will be white after today

 

Not so if Domestic Special Orders. Coca-Cola trucks were painted Coca-Cola Red including grilles/headlamp doors. CA Dept of Transportation (now known as CalTrans) trucks were painted orange including grilles/headlamp doors.

Now take into consideration what colors fire trucks were painted. Many were red, but some could be painted any color imaginable. Palm Springs FD trucks are white.

And trucks sold to US Gov't agencies could also be painted any color imaginable. USAF: dark blue, US Dept of the Interior: Green
