6.0 smoking alot only at start up
Hi, im new to this site. I do no there is some problems with the 6.0. But i do believe that the problem i have is not to due with the common head gaskets... My truck smokes like crazy (mostly white with a lil bit of blue) only after it is ran for a lil while then it sits. So when i restart it again is when it smokes like that... im not really knowledgeable to these diesel's but i feel it could be some kind of seal (maybe in turbo) leaking whatever it is if its oil or coolant in when its warm then stops after it cools down... it does seem that i have wennt thru a lil coolant but not much.. also seems like my coolant is a lil dirty..AFter all that smoke clears out i do not see any smoke at all after that.. Even if im really getting on it i dont see anything...... any advice would be greatly appreciated

If you notice it running hard, and kind-of stuttering during accel when cold, then you may either have sticking injectors, failing injectors, or low fuel pressure (or a combination of the three.)
First thing is to check your fuel pressure - make sure you are getting 55+PSI when revving. If not, then change your fuel filters, then pressure regulator.
I recently started getting that and found my FPR was toast, giving me only 10PSI at idle - I am lucky that this only put two injectors into sticcion, which I will be replacing shortly. When cold, i get it due to those two injectors, but it goes away once my oil is at temp and the injectors are no longer sticking. This may be the same case for you.
Another, possibility I was given is that the oil seal in the turbo may be beginning to fail - but I would check the fuel first.
If it's EGR / Coolant related you will be unable to miss the coolant smell.
