Hi.... The truck was running well.... but the water pump was leaking.. I replaced the water pump... and noticed the throttle body was full of crap.. I wiped it out. Every thing seemed ok But after driving 70 miles my wife noticed it was idling high in park. The idle dropped when I unplugged the IAC. back to normal ... and stayed normal until I pressed the accelerator and it went high again. So i changed the IAC and it appeared to be ok. Went to start it and it started ok but then idled very high.... unplugged the IAC and the idle dropped.
reconnected the IAC it idled ok until you press the accelerator... I cannot find a vacuum leak ... Could it be the TPS??
Also now when you start the truck it idles high with out dropping ....

 

Any codes? Did you disconnect the negative battery cable before you replaced the IAC?

 

no codes. and yes I disconnected the battery....

 

Did you check for codes, or are you going by the CEL? You can have codes which do not trip the CEL.

 

i checked the codes.... again... nothing I am going to get a new code reader I think this one may be faulty... no CEL
