Question 1992 Ford F150 Flareside (short) bed

Is the only/best way to get a replacement bed in the local salvage yards?

Are there after-market companies for such? I see all the ones for 'accessories' but what about the bed ITSELF?!!

I am new to this forum/website as well as to doing work on my 1992 - just been driving "as is"! Plus, part of the reason is because money IS a factor, unfortunately!

Any helpful pointers and direction would be appreciated!

Thanks, in advance!!!

Junk yard, craigslist and ebay are your best bet.

These are no longer sold new nor would you want to pay a New price(3,000+)

Check car-part.com. I have seen a few on there. Also local Craigslist and salvage yards are a great place to look. Unfortunately if money is really tight, don't expect to buy one. I have seen quiet a few for sale, all of which were $600+ for one with no damage.

Yep junkyard or ebay or Craigslist are your only bets.. They are not cheap cause they aren't common..

And even harder to find in good shape no busts r anything..

Most likely you will have to buy the whole truck.

No, Puddy...thanks to Evan_P, I checked car-parts.com and found many...very good resource! They had many listings there and one of the vendors had two of them!

I have e-mailed the vendor and am awaiting additonal info before purchasing!

Thanks, Evan_P - good tip!

Yup. Have a budget. And what ever it is, you'll go over lol
Depends how much you love these trucks. At the end of the day these trucks are more of a hobby.

The 92 was bought in 04 and was completed in 07.
