I almost sold my Dually tonight. Not sure what I was thinking. I got a diesel itch but seeing someone else driving MY truck got me over that. I bought my 99 F350 Crew Cab Dually for what a lot of 6.0 guys spend to "bullet proof" their motors.

Anyhow, my truck is a 2wd long bed crew cab dually. V10 Automatic. It has some issues I need to sort out, so if you all don't care.. please help me get my dually in shape

1) Tires- It currently has 235/85r16... The sticker on the door jam says to run 215/85r16. I want to go back to 215/85r16's. I think this will give me back a little felt power and a few (maybe 1) MPG's... Thoughts? My tire man recommended either Duro's (made by cooper?) or Firestone Transforce. The duro's can be had for $750 installed.. The Transforce installed about $950.00. Not sure which I will get yet. $200.00 is a buch of cash in this economy.

2) Shocks- My local repair shop offered me 4 new shocks installed at $89.00 each. Good deal? I can change my own plugs and fuel filter.. I feel like I should be able to handle shocks as well... Thoughts? What kind of shocks?

3) Transmission- sometimes firm shift from 1st to second. Other gears are fine.. is a rebuild immanent? Transmission fluid looks GREAT.. also Tows great.

4) Front end.. I simply dislike the XL front end. I want an 05-up Lariat front end. I found a good source for regular 05-07 XLT grills on Ebay, not so much for the Lariat grills. And what do I do about that bumper? Its...black.. paint it white? Replace with a chrome bumper?

5) Need me some side bars... How about the $150.00 specials on Ebay.. Good, bad, indifferent?

6).there seems to be a rattle in the B piller... sounds crazy... but its driving me nuts.. anybody had an issue like this? When I push out on the window the rattle stops....let it go and its back to rattling.

7) I need a new steering stabilizer.. New one from Autozone is like $30.00.... should I go for a dual steering stabilizer?

Tires personally I would keep what you have unless there wore out. I went from a 265/16 too a 315/16 and only noticed a mpg difference.
Shocks I put on billstien there good quality and fairly decent priced.
Transmission personally mine does the same thing im just gonna run it till its fried. But its been doing that for 70,000 miles.
For the grill make sure you buy the cut down version of the 05/07 grill because 99/04 are smaller grills. For front bumper i would go on car-parts.com and search for one you like.
