Fuel Tank Coating POR15?
Has anyone ever used this ?
US STANDARD FUEL TANK SEALER
http://www.por15.com/US-STANDARD-TANK-SEALER/productinfo/TSG/
Was going to use the tank stripper first... then seal with this...
Its says it will hold up.. Might call the rep first to see what they say about diesels...
Anyone ever sand blast the inside of there tank to remove the paint?

I see you posted in the other thread too. I remember reading about these issues a couple years ago in the 6.0 area and that it was taking out injectors like mad. Not sure if they've come up with a new way, but at that point I think the general fix was taking tank to a radiator shop to be cleaned, washing tank out with MEK after receiving from radiator shop, then coating with a product like KREEM. There is a TSB for this and quite a few trying to start class action lawsuits. I really don't know where any of it went, probably nowhere. I think a new tank is around $800 and will probably fail again. Ford just blames it on bad or improper fuel and they have the money to talk.

No brainer then. Think I would install a see through filter inline before the pump to watch for those little white flakes in case it starts again. Do you know if there is any improvement to the lining of the newer tanks Neal? Can't help but be curious. Seems all this started right about the time ULSD came to town.

Yes - I didn't want to post about tank replacement/coating in a fuel filter post...
I have seen a lot of those "replacement tanks" but they are all zinc based coatings.
My understanding is zinc deteriorates with diesel fuel to make a mess again..
I even hate to bring up the fuel tank debate again... uggh...
replace is my answer... to much labor to justify all that if I can get a suitable replacement under 200. I would just like it to be able to withstand a home brew bio diesel...
Again another topic for the bio-diesel board...
