Phantom Aluminum Intake

I purchased my 76 F100 and in the cab was an Eldebrock Intake for a 6 cyl. I have searched all on the internet for this intake to find the specs on it and have come up with nothing so here I am hoping someone can help

On the top of the intake it has Edelbrock FORD 300 6C 1V
Underneath the intake it has 5557

Back in the day, there were a lot of aftermarket intakes for the 300 for 1bbl, 2bbl, and 4bbl setups. Most have been discontinued except for the popular 4bbl setup.

Have you contacted Edelbrock with the numbers?

I have tried using their website but as you said it wasn't even listed but no I have not called them to ask. I was hoping someones here may have an idea if its worth swapping out for stock. I am working on bodywork now before I tackle the engine but figured I would put it out there

Yeah, I don't think it'd be listed since they don't make it anymore. May be able to just email them for some information though. May flow better than stock, or might just be a stock replacement.

If you put that intake on eBay you'll probably get enough to buy a new Offy 4v intake and a new 4v carb. It's a rare piece and pretty sought after. Supposed to improve torque over the stock intake at low rpm, but as you would expect with a one barrel carb it is limited at higher rpm.

If you're looking for low end and not planning on turning revs it's a sweet piece. But you could parlay it into a few new performance parts.

Thanks Baron, makes me feel a little better about it. I guess that gives me a little more incentive to call Edelbrock tomorrow to try and get some specs on it.
The biggest purpose will be for pulling my boat and although the weight is right at the limits i am more worried about low end torque than speed at this point.

Ok I called Edelbrock today....although the tech guy was quite short and "unfriendly" he did tell me that I should get 10-15 ft lbs of torque and 8-20 hp by installing this intake. He said its about 30 years old so I guess the question now is do I install now or wait to decide what direction I am going.

I would wait and see what direction you wanna take. That way you don't put on a part that you may or may not want when you do decide..but it is a cool find!

Agreed on all accounts. Very cool find whether you sell it or keep it!

I found another 300 with a offy intake and header with 500cfm carb so i am leaning in the direction of selling the intake. I wonder what it might be worth to someone....guess its time to hit the parts post.

Put it on eBay if you want to maximize the price. Just guessing based on the rarity I'd say you could get $400-500, easy.

You think so??? Well it costs money to sell on Ebay so maybe I will just keep it in here to sell it. I would rather sell it to someone that contributes to this forum than not. Granted its not a auction like ebay but I guess I can just list a price and go from there maybe....what you think?

I suggest checking out Fordsix. com . There is a lot of good info there and there are always guys looking for an Edelbrock intake.

If you are going to try and sell it on a forum expect to get around $350. You'll get more by selling it on Ebay. A lot more people will see it. And a bidding war will bring more $$.
