OEM Remote Start Issue
I have only had my truck a few days and have a problem with the remote start.
It worked great for the first few days, but now this.
This morning i was in the house and tried to remote start. Lock, then the 2x button 2 times. truck beeped at me. So i did it again and again. Nothing but the truck honking at me. So i tried, unlock, lock 2x. Still honked at me.
THen i went out in the cold 5 ft from the truck and it did the same thing. so i climbed in started the truck manually, then shut it off , got out locked the doors. Then i did the lock, 2x two times and the truck fired up.
What gives?

But it's not all that hard. Lock, start button 2 times
It's just to keep people from hitting the start button while keys are in a pocket or purse. Or in my case, the kids

I swear my factory remote start button is a remote horn button. I would estimate that my remote start works maybe 50% of the time.
If you read in the service manual there are a number of possible causes most of which are best left to your friendly neighborhood service department.
So, since your truck is new. Bring it to your dealer and let them figure it out. I have found it's better to show them what it's doing vs just telling them. If you show them, they can't say that the truck didn't do what you claim. But it's often tough to get them to take the time to let you show them.
Good luck!!!
FWIW, the system in my 11, per the service manual. Has a range of 328 feet.

They, the auto makers, could do one heck of a better job designing and implementing remote auto starters with all of the technology that is available today. I mean these smart phones can accomplish so much via the world of electronics. Why aren't there remote systems more advanced like them?
I purchased the Viper satellite system for my wife years ago. The auto can be started from anywhere as long as it is sitting in a cell phone grid. Tremendous technology to say the least. However it's much more expensive now vs then. What else is new?

Extending the engine run time
To keep the engine running for another remote start duration, repeat
Steps 1 and 2 with the engine still running. If you programmed the
duration to last 10 minutes, the second 10 minutes will begin
immediately so that, for example, if the vehicle had been running from
the first remote start for five minutes, the engine will continue to run for
a total of 15 minutes. You can only extend the remote start once.
If the vehicle is remote started then remote stopped, wait at least five
seconds before remote starting a second time.
The ignition switch must be turned to the on position and then back to
the off position or allow one hour to pass before using remote start
again.Steps 1 and 2 with the engine still running. If you programmed the
