driveshaft hitting my cat

most of you guys know, some lifted 4x4 V10's have the front driveshaft smackin the d/s cat. mine was when offroading. I noticed the balance weight was leaving a nice rectangle on my catshield. Had it re-balanced and the weight moved to the smaller part of the shaft. I'll be out in the dirt in a few weeks, I'll let you know if it worked.

My wingman..

Oh man did he smack his teeth out wrenching?????

Can wait til my son is a little older to start teaching him things. Then I'll have to teach my younger one, then they'll fight over who's helping dad with truck, then they'll both be in timeout and I'll still never have time to complete any projects!!!!!.....................

My Dad had the exact same problem on his 08. We ended up having a new driveline built smaller in diameter but much thicker wall thickness.

I keep mine unlocked and then rigged a strap to pull the cat out of the way for now. I may eventually get a new shaft made.

To the OP,

The pic looks like a new driveshaft. How much $?

Mine is rusted out and it looks like I will have to buy new.

well, did a desert trip to Ocotillo Wells, and it seems like things are better. I didn't hear the drive shaft slappin the cat, but it looks to still slightly rub. it'll do for now.

didn't have the issue on a 1999, you should just take the cats out and put a single farther down the exhaust to never have that problem again
