2010 brake fluid loss? Help

My 2010 screw 5.4 has only 20K on it and last week the low brake fluid light came on. Yes I know I need to do the pads and with the little miles the truck gets I was waiting on slightly milder weather to address this. I added fluid and went on my way. Last night the light comes on again, my guess there is a leak somewhere. BTW truck stops fine.
First question; Any recalls on the brake system?
I bought the extended warranty so since this probably isn't pad or rotor issue should the dealer fix the problem?
I'm in a real bind here as my lady in is rough shape health wise and I need this truck ready to roll at all times.
Thanks Much
Wayne

IMO a leak is not a "wear" item like pads and rotors. Drive carefully to the dealer......

Dealers flat out scare me. I drove down to them today, of course the service manager doesn't understand how vehicles work! Got an appointment for next Monday. Thought about things and bought a good set of front pads since it was 45* today. When I got to the right side I found the leak. It was the bleeder screw that must have been leaking since the truck was built. Small enough that when I saw a drop in the reservoir level I chalked it up to pad wear. Now If I had brought the truck in they Might have found the problem or just sold me new pads. I never have had any good experiances with dealers. Basically the only reason I bought the Extended warranty was for dash electronics.

Well in that case I would strongly suggest you get your money back, I'm sure they will prorate what you have left of it, stick it in savings and wait for a failure. Dealers scare me too, my last trip to the dealer involved actually meeting the moron that worked on my truck........very very disheartening. Good luck!

did you need new pads as well?

i can't imagine what type of use wears out pads in 20k.

The pads I removed had at least another 10K left on them. I'm combat disabled and once I pulled the caliper I wasn't going to let it pass without renewing them. Most of those 20K are stop and go and pulling my boat so I'm a bit harder on brakes than most.
