I'd drain ALL the fluids and check for water as it comes out. Oil, transmission, differential (not sure how you'll do that?), power steering, and fuel. Remove the spark plugs and crank it to blow some water out. Don't know how you'll get all the water out of the cylinders unless you're going to start it. If its going to sit for a while without running, I'd pull the heads and get all the water off the cylinders. Check the master cyl for water in the bottom then flush the brakes well. Remove the distributor and dump it out. Remove the seats, and any carpeting and insulation. Check all the body drain holes. Never had to deal with a submerged vehicle but that's where I'd start.

It aint Euro "get an std set of tools" WELCOME TO THE OTHER SIDE, we wont ask you to bow before speaking... and we like you just because you had the faith to go for it!! Thats how we got here BTW!
GET THE ENGINE AND TRANS OUT AND APART OR FLUSHED ASAP. IMO APART! a flush is a pipe dream imo. If you rather not, ID drain the engine & dump diesel in it. crank it over (no igntn) until no sign of water drains out. Refill with oil and crank it up. Trans, Little Hope imo
that pond wasn't on the edge of a coastline RIGHT?
AGREE WITH ABOVE, CHECK AND DRAIN ALL CAVITIES. It need's a full tear down to be sure, FULL. And it sounds like it would benifit you as well as your son to do so, hell even many here as you do. All will become more enlightened to some extent.

got it in my shop next to my Lamborghini and i gotta admit it actually looks better. i pulled the bed and cab of frame so far with help from my mechanics my sons in Florida with his mom and i hope to have the truck together and running by my deadline 2 months.i just junked the engine and got the same kind of engine out of a totaled 68 f-100. when the old truck came out of the pond i got dinner there was a good size rock fish in the bed...score free food!!!!!!!!!! i found that the exhaust system was sticking out in front of he front tires is this normal?
