Heated/Cooled seats not working

I've posted this before, a couple of years ago but I wanted to post again to see if there is any more insight in to what might be happening on my 2004 Expedition Eddie Bauer.

One day both front seats quit heating and cooling. They both quit at the same time and will neither heat nor cool. I figured it was the fuse but that doesn't seem to be the issue. I replaced it and things still don't work. The buttons no longer light up either.

Does anyone have an idea of what might be going on?

Thanks.

Wyn

There is actually a Module that controls the functions of the front seats, and it has its own trouble codes. So unless you can see obvious pinched or broken wires unfortunately you have to take it to a dealer or repair shop that has a Ford scan tool.

The odd thing about this issue is both seats are out. Each seat has its own module. It must be something they have in common (or really bad luck that they both went out).

Does anyone have a part number for these modules? I have a drivers side on the Navigator not working.

It is a Ford only part for some reason, you can't get them aftermarket so you are going to need to talk to the dealer. I had one replaced, but don't seem to have the receipt with the part number here at work.

I figured. thanks man. I have bigger problems now though. Front end is on the ground so I think it is time for the conversion.

Bump.

I took my passenger seat out, pulled back a bunch of the upholstery (didn't cut any hog rings) and couldn't see any broken or pinched wires.

I suspect the control module. Neither driver or passenger heated seats work. Both lights do work.

Why did you go through all of that instead of just ohming out the seat element at the connector?

If both lights work depending on what year your expo is 07 and up the large plug connecting to your module could be the culprit if your light comes on but shuts off pretty quickly there is a negative wire that shorts out and it looses ground they have an upgraded connector to replace it sometimes it damages the module otherwise the thermostat is the other culprit if it burns up it will not heat witch is embedded into the fabric or the the heating element is fried or severed best thing to do is unplug the heating pad and do an ohm test like mentioned already hope this heads you in the right direction
