I love Costco and wish there was one closer to where I live, but it is nearly a 2 hour drive each way

And being as it is only 12 degrees outside and spitting snow, and I just got off a 12 hour shift, I thought I'd wait until tomorrow to take a closer look It started right up again this morning, died, and then took a bit to get it started the 2nd time, so it is definitely what you say. I would dearly love to find and fix this problem! The new batteries are Durafast Gold 850/1000 and cost $300 for both, the previous total had included antifreeze, fuel additive and oil. Yes, I will have someone come over and change out the oil this week to a diesel 15/40 like you both recommend. Should the fuel/water separator be changed out again since it seems to be leaking everywhere? It was replaced about 6 months ago. I don't know if this matters in the great scheme of things or not, but it is also straight piped to twin stacks in the bed of the truck. Again, thank you so much, all of you, for your help!!
ok.you need one of these:
Delphi 7135-276 Fuel Injector Installation Kit : Amazon.com : Automotive Delphi 7135-276 Fuel Injector Installation Kit : Amazon.com : Automotive

(you will not be replacing the fuel injectors.so no need to remove them.you can discard the copper washers in the kit.)

use these o-rings instead of the ones in the kit:
111 Viton O-Ring, 75A Durometer, Round, Brown, 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD, 3/32" Width (Pack of 50): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

for install instructions:

that will take care of the dampness you see.important.

now,for the fuel/water separator.
remove the metal bowl.it's failure prone.
replace the current fuel filter/metal water separator with this:
Wix 33617 Spin-On Fuel and Water Separator Filter, Pack of 1 : Amazon.com : Automotive Wix 33617 Spin-On Fuel and Water Separator Filter, Pack of 1 : Amazon.com : Automotive

I am so glad I found you! I have copy/pasted all the instructions and links to replace/repair the injector fuel lines and will probably tackle this over the next day or two, weather depending. I already have the identical WIX fuel separator that you've recommended, so maybe it's come loose??? (I paid almost $50 at Kragens ) I love the instructions for the fuel lines, it's nice to keep some humor in all this!
Thank you again

oh,yeah maybe it's just loose then.either the main filter threads or just the drain might need to be tightened up.that would be good since you just bought it.they're good for 60k miles or 4 years, whichever comes first.so hopefully that's the case.
your welcome.

It's tricky when one person is asking questions and then someone else tries to do a good deed and helps out without knowing there may be a more cost effective way.
Her bosses husband just went and bought the biggest baddest batteries the parts store guy said. (Which he probably didn't know much about batteries so the parts guy sold whatever he could)
It costs more when you're in a bind and need something immediately. I always pay more when I want/need instant gratification, or when I let someone else do the work.
Truck has new batteries. Very good. At least now they won't run down and strand you.
