I have a 2000 f-350 doesn't want to start when its colder out , glowplugs seem to be working , they draw the cablights down a bit when on but when i go to start it it turns over but won't start. can hear a relay or two clicking under the dash and after I'm done turning it over the wipers cycle once and the phone which is turned off powers up like it's just lost power and got it back again. When I charged the batteries the driver side one was bubbling like crazy , could one skrewed battery give me all these problems. I am going to get a load test done because it never seemed to start like that last time it cold . Any thoughts on this ? Thanks.
Yes, one bad battery can do all of that. The bad one can draw the good one down rather quickly. If they are original (or the same age), it would probably be best to replace them both.
I would suspect a bad battery. If one is bad replace both. Also just cause the glow plug relay is clicking doesn't mean it is operating properly. I would check that also. Welcome to FTE! Good luck with your problem this is a great site to address any questions or concerns with you truck.
Thanks, I think from the looks of things they are the original ones so I guess they're probably due, i'll let you know how it turns out when I get some new batteries.
Ya I've heard walmart is good for battery warranties , but I went Canadian Tire today and got two 1065 amp with 3 yr. full replacement and 9 yr. prorated , eliminator they're called . Tried one battery out of the camper today and it started right up so I went and got the new ones and it seems to be fine now. Thanks alot for your input guys. Later.
