ok guys just trying to get your opinions on couple trucks i have found. first off both are 2008 crew cab king ranch newer tires sunroof no navigation. one is a long bed with 95kmiles completly stock asking $26,950 the other is a short bed 133k miles and has a h&s tuner with full exhaust asking $25,900. now if i buy the lower miles truck i would want to add a programmer and exhaust so whats that around $1,600? what do you guys think

tough call..but I would choose the lower mileage..40k miles difference is a lot IMO...

Good luck with you decision.

I wasn't considering book value..just the thought of less miles the better and I prefer LB trucks.

Lower mileage, no tuner installed currently is the better option based SOLELY on the info provided. Photos of the engine bay and tailpipes will help us give you a little more insight.

Things to consider:
Do they have maintenance records?
Where are they being purchased from? Private or Dealer? Ford?
Have your local Ford dealer run an Oasis report on BOTH VIN's if at all possible. Not likely they will for free or at all, but it's almost a necessity when buying a used Ford vehicle these days.

Given the nature of these trucks, the higher mileage truck may be a better deal pending the above mentioned points.

I would personally pick the stock truck; you never know how crazy the previous owner went with the tunes.

ok so i bought some coolant test strips to test the antifreeze, i plan on draining the water separator and would like to pull the engine fuel filter to check for rust/debris. when draining the water separator does the fuel pump need to prime the system before restart? how about for checking the upper fuel filter? anyone know the nut size for the upper filter housing? i plan on having a cold start when i get there, is normal glow plug wait time around 10 sec? its around 30F. i haven't seen hardly posts on glow plugs like it did for mu 7.3IDI are they just not common for failures? thanks guys !
