My 1979 F-250 4x4 build
#166
Thanks everyone. I just visited Chicago the other day and drove the truck around the city a bit. I was definitely turning some heads. I loved the way the exhaust sounded as it echoed off of the buildings.
Although, parking this thing was a b***h
I got compliments on the truck, but was also told that the truck had no business being in the city.
Yup, that's kind of been the whole theme of the truck. Maintain the original period correct look, but add a few modern touches.
I ended up straightening the original bumper so I didn't bother swapping them over. I kind of got excited to put the truck together and didn't take the time to swap bumpers. I figured I could always swap them in the future if I want to. Eventually I'd like to get a winch bumper and 12k lbs winch anyway. I pull a lot of people out, so a winch would be nice to have. I still work this truck if I need something heavier than my 97 F-150.
