Surging under 1/2 to 3/4 throttle - what to check?

Hey guys. I've noticed that sometimes the truck will "surge" under 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. It basically feels like it's not getting enough fuel. I've been monitoring the usual stuff but haven't really seen anything out of the ordinary. Is there anything specific I should check? I'm wondering if possibly the IPR screen got blown out from the aftermarket oil filter cap?

Fuel filters were replaced about 2,000 miles ago with Motorcraft filters. The fuel pressure regulator and blue spring kit were installed about 10,000 miles ago. Fuel pressure I'm not sure yet as I don't have a gauge for it. Was trying to figure out a setup for it.

There is a good chance it could be plugged up. I highly doubt it's ever been touched. I do plan to delete it eventually.

could be a Flakey ICP

It would help if you posted sensor values taken under the Ford Criterias and also during Surge

Alright, I'll see if I can get the data logger up and running on Torque and see what I can come up with.

Ford main criteria will be in park or Nuetral like this

OPERATING VALUES
Just make shure the numbers are taken exactly like this
Truck in PARK OR NEUTRAL all times during test
ECT at 190* or close to And EOT at 185* or higher
A/C OFF
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#1-------KOEO=Key On Engine Off =record EACH sensor value and POST IT!!
#2-------Low Idel (truck idel on its own)=record EACH sensor value and POST IT!!
#3-------High Idel (2500RPM)=record EACH sensor value and POST IT!!
These values will be the baseline^^^

there is really no values when driving as there is too Many varibles

But if it will only surge when driving then its good to take value then but will only a Estimated Guess and the value will have to be WAAAY off to catch

Egr valve, Turbo sticking, bad injector, bad fuel. Assuming youve done a proper tune up. Airfilter, oilfilter fuelfilter all fluids etc

Is this "sometimes" more when the engine is cold (up to 100 degrees) warming up (100-180) or fully hot (190+)?

Doesn't really seem to matter the temp. I've had it do it cold and hot.

Thinking at this point it's the unison ring. The turbo will flutter a few times when you boost it hard then let off. Diesel tech friend that works for Ford said that's probably why it only does it under harder throttle. It surges at 2500 RPM+.

I plan on getting the information. I haven't driven the truck since Sunday. I'll be driving it again Thursday most likely when I go to haul scrap with it. It's a 2006.

I plan on doing that, I'm just stating that I asked an old friend about it and he said it's probably the unison ring. Like I said, I haven't driven the truck for a few days, so I don't have any information to post yet.
