Well i wouldnt call it an alarm as its more of just an antitheft system. All the lights flash and motor wont turn over.
Everytime batteries go dead or put new ones in you have to reset it.

Had this happen on the wifes Toyota. I changed the battery, and when I reconnected the leads the car alarm started going off. There should be a button some where on/under your dash. Turn your key to the on position (don't start it) and push/hold that button. i hope this works for you.

Depends on the system for many turning the key on and off a certain number of times will reset it.

1. Lock and unlock the door a few times.
2. Put key in the "on" position. Look for a switch or button, flip or hold it.

Should reset everything.

Problem solved. Up under the dash a keyless entry system had been installed. It had about 3 harnesses pluged into it so i unplugged all of them and everything is good. I never used the keyless entry anyhow and yes that was aftermarket.
