I have a 2004 f-150. I had the dealer install the autostart and I think it came with a beefed up alarm system. Anywho, my dad is driving it at the moment and he left the lights on and the battery went dead. He was kicking it off with another car, but when he tries to crank it, the alarm goes off. Its looud. So he's calling me just a cussin about all this fancy stuff on the truck.
My first thought was that with the hood open, the alarm might think something wrong was happening, and that's what was triggering it. So I told him to just let the other car give it a good charge, then sh ut the hood and try again.
Any ideas of what's going on? I'm afraid he's going to roll my truck down into the creek any minute now.
it's the nature of the alarm system, once the battery or jumper is hooked up, yeah it will make that noise and did you guys try to disable it with the remote while the alarm is going off....you may wanna tell your dad to do that first....or you can also use the reset button while the key is in the on position.....try these steps first and let us know what happen...oh by the way if this fixes your alarm start the truck and don't turn it off, drive for about half hour to get it charged....

Ya he would hit the unlock button a few times, which I think is how it's diabled? I wasn't aware of a reset button w hile the key is in the on position. He called a bit ago and said that he found a broken wire under the hood. Not sure how that would have happened. But in the end, he got it started and no alarm after he respliced the wire. I made sure I told him about auto headlights, so he wouldn't leave them on again.
