I was just curious what people had, I know that this poll doesnt quite catch all the guns, as most of us own more than 1.

I myself have the following:

30 cal springfield M1 Garand
30-06 Ruger SS laminated wood stock M77 mkII, with a Leuopold vari-x 2
308 lever action savage
.22 marlin SS laminated Stock, Semi auto tuber
.22 bolt action savage
various other shot guns and rifles, these above happen to be my favorites.


Anyone care to share stories or prefereces?

More than I can think of and of too many calibers. .22, 223, 6.5 Swedish, 7mm, 7Mag, 30/30, 30.06, 308, 7.62 Russian(both kinds), 7.65 Argentine, 303, 8mm, 8mm Hungarian, 44Mag, probably missed a couple.

My favorites are 223 AR15 A model Sporter(created to pass the California Assault ban), 30.06 M1. can't decide which one is more accurate. I guess M for long range and wind. AR15 for short range.

My 8 year old boy goes nuts with my 1896 Swedish 6.5 Mauser(German production, somewhat rare, not Swede which was very common). He loves to shoot that at the range and does pretty good. He has already claimed it as his gun when he gets older.

Fortunately I have enough guns that I think I can divide them up evenly between my two boys when the time comes. Not so sure the oldest boy(12) is so keen on owning as many as the younger.
Need to teach them how to reload. Ammo is getting to be a problem. Youngest by this weekend said to mom, "Dad is OK and sometimes fun, but right now he is out of 6.5 Swedish, so I don't need to be nice to him". Jeez, my value is based upon maintaining a supply of ammo.

You left out the rifle caliber that has taken more big game than any other, the 30-30 Win.

My personal favorite is the 7mm Rem mag.

No rifles, when I move up north I'll probably pick up a shotgun of some sort and maybe do some small game hunting like I did when I was
a kid.

I own two handguns.

1 .357 Colt Python (was owned by an NOPD officer who died in the line
of duty, he was a big gun collector.) It was his
service revolver, a very nice weapon with a very
nice trigger job done on it. (can we say hair-
pin?) I keep this one around more because I got a
really good deal on it and it's in excellent
shape.

1 Glock 27 .40 Caliber. (bought new, it's my favorite for carry
because of it's size and Night Sights.
also, the wife can handle it a lot easier
than the Python. Also, the hairpin on the
python makes it impractical for carry.
lawyers go crazy over hairpin triggers.)

My pet cartridge is the 100yr.old 6.5x55 Swedish.I've got a few rifles in this caliber with a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight that will put'em in under a dime at 100yds.with the right ammo.
My favorite rifle is probably my blued steel,walnut stocked Sako in 308.

 

I think that with all of FTE's fire power, we could take care of buisness in Iraq...

I can see the headlines now: "FTE saves World from Future Terrorist bombings!!"
