Oil Weight

What kind of weight do you guys recommend? I'm in Texas so it doesn't get all thatched here so I was thinking 15w-40. Any input would help. The truck is 00 250 4wd auto.

The reason I ask is because Tractor Supplying having sales today for black Friday, and there selling rotella in 5 gallon buckets for 55 bucks, so I can't pass on that.

Thanks

I run Delo 15-40 and Motorcraft filters along with oil samples to Blackstone. I have 2 99 PSD pushing 200,000 and 300,000 miles. I'm happy with the results.

Rotella 15w-40 is just fine for your truck. That's what I run in mine.

What does the word "thatched" in this statement mean? Being a non-Texan (therefore of an inferior strain of US citizen ) I have never heard the word thatched used in this context. Help me out, you guys of the Republic!

I don't know either, maybe a younger thing!
But, 15-40 should be fine, unless your in the panhandle, it does get a bit cold up there. Sounds like a good deal, although I have seen Wally world at 12 and some change for a gallon.
