Stock tire size on my truck?

Stock tire size on my truck?
I have a 1993 F-250 XL. 460 7.5 Liter motor with a 5-speed manual transmission. What size tires come on this truck stock? Also I want to get big tires for it, like mudding tires. I like the way trucks look on big tires. So any suggestions for those would be nice.

Stock, your truck came with either 215/85R16 or 235/85R16...being a SRW and a big block, I'd lean toward the 235s. Assuming it's still there, the data tag on the driver's door jamb will tell you which size your truck left the factory with.
Now the more complicated part is changing tire sizes. If your truck came with 215s, you probably have 6" wheels...you can get away with 235s, but that's about it. If you have 235s now, you probably have a 7" wheel. A 265/75R16 will fit with no problem, and will be damn near the same diameter as the 235/85, so your speedometer should be pretty much dead-nuts on.
I've read about plenty of guys on this board that have replaced the 265/75R16 on their Super Duties with 285/75s...yeah, they'll fit, but IMO, that's too wide a tire for a 7" rim. I think for big/wide tires, you're gonna want at least an 8" wide rim or wider, depending on the tire size.
Picking a wheel with the proper offset is for another day...
