looking at buying an EPEC for 302...

I've been looking at Craigslist and saw a GSR, EPEC system for Fords EEC SD setup. Guy is selling it for $275. Question is if it's worth it? What's the opinion?

It looks like a decent product, but getting support for something that was released 10+ years ago may be tough.

he noted that "One could download the software and manual from it.." I just didn't know if it was worth it versus Tweecer or some other hardware.

FWIW a manual can be downloaded here: http://birnschein.microforge.de/xr2i...s/EPECbook.pdf

This isn't a tuning device. It's a separate stand alone computer. $275 will get you an outdated system, software that probably will not run on a modern computer and little to no support at all.

There are better solutions now, especially with emulation devices like the Tweecer and QuarterHorse
