Fittings for Transmission Cooler Lines

Fittings for Transmission Cooler Lines
I've got a 2006 Expedition, with the 5.4L and heavy duty towing package. The transmission cooler lines have rusted out. My mechanic is trying to replace them and is having problems. The connectors to both the transmission cooler and the radiator are so rusted that the connectors are breaking. He says that if he could get the fittings to connect to the bottom of the radiator and the cooler he could just replace those, but Ford doesn't sell them separately. Unless I can find these fitting I'm looking at a new transmission cooler and radiator. Does anyone know of an after market company that might sell these fittings? Any other suggestions?
PS: I'm no mechanic myself (I'd much rather work in a computer) so please type slowly!!
Thanks for any advice

I'm also assuming that the '06 Expy used the same part. Ford calls them 'connectors' under part# YL3Z 7D273 AA.
Hope that helps.........

Trans coolers aren't high tech, Theres nothing special about whats going on there. Theres TONS of different sized compression fitting that you can use as adapters. I've built these systems for trolleys and large box trucks. Any autoparts store carrys trans hoses (steel or rubber) and the compression fitting they work GREAT.
Good luck

If not thanks to dalewilly at least other people with the same issue can now find the fitting they will need to fix the leak. In fact I think I'll send him some rep points for his post.

Cheaper Fix
I've had the same problem with my 05 F450. The line keepers collect road salt, debris, etc and cause the connector and line to rust out.
So far the only way to get those connectors is to buy a new radiator for big $$$$$ OR buy a trans filter kit from Ford part # FT 152. Ive seen the kits for around $80 on eBay and other parts sites. This part comes with 4 connectors, enough to fix your truck and a friends. Or just sell the connectors on eBay and make your money back.
