Ex starting issue

I have a 2000 V10 ex. The past couple if days it been giving me some issues while trying to start. At times it will start fine like every truck should, but every now and then I turn the key and it starts to catch but quickly dies. Then it continually turns over. I apply pressure to the gas and it finally catches and runs fine after that. This problem has been getting worse over the past month. Whenever I start it I have to apply gas before turning the key so I know the engine will catch. I've already added fuel treatment and stp to clean fuel pumps but had no luck with that. Any ideas?

Check fuel pressure at valve on the fuel rail with key on.

Clean idle air control.

Change fuel filter.

Pull engine codes. -that'll gotcha started.

I went to autozone today an bought a fuel filter. Just need to get out and put it on. After that I'll see what else I can with the tools I have. I'm trying to avoid taking it to a shop because I'm a hands on person but sometimes there's no choice.

Autozone sells a great fuel pressure tester for fords with the Schrader valve. Good time to buy a good code reader too for OBDII vehicles. Search for IAC on here for where it is. Then clean it with carb cleaner.

Mine has also been running a lot smoother, I also bought a fuel treatment called zmax, seemed to work wonders, never felt my truck run so smooth
