Front twin beam? for 2WD
#3
front beams
I was just thinking about that question, since if I understand correctly to properly lift thr 2wd the beams need to be bent would that mean a 350 which is roughly 2" taller from the factory ( I think front and rear) would have to have a different bend or did they increase the height some other way?

I don't know if the axles will interchange between the different models. The parts catalog only shows that there are different part numbers between them. I doesn't specify what differences there are.
If you want to know whether the axles will physically fit, I think they will but I'm not 100% sure.

for anyone here looking later I'll add a bit.
Beams are pretty much the same from F-100 - F-350. The F350 ones seem to be a SLIGHTLY larger forging, but the 1 tons trucks and SOME of the heavy duty F-250's use a 1" kingpin vs. the 7/8" kingpin found in the 1/2 ton trucks & light duty F-205's
Then you get into the "super camper special" (SCS) trucks or F-350 crew cabs. These beams are a LOT larger forging and use even a slightly bigger kingpin.
All the beams/radius arms seem to be the same dimensions & will bolt in place of one another. Therefore, for guys wanting to do a disk brake swap, etc. it's often easier to swap out complete beams with the disk brake spindles already on them.

ChaseTruck754 I was hoping you would jump in! I am still wondering about height difference, F350 to F250 or 150, specifically SuperCab Camper special I guess . if beam angles are the same how are the 350's taller, approx. 2" according to the catalogs I have seen, or is the height just in the back which doesn't seem to make sense or the rake would be much more thatn the =\- 2" I seem to have. Of course who knows after 35 years if it is as it was.
Interesting side note my '78 shop manual (the cd version) shows a different rear suspension set up for the F350 (140" wheel base) but does not specify anything for the Supercab or crew unless I missed it which is entirely possible.
Don't mean to labor the point but really trying to understand the differences.
Thanks!

I'd say call Autofab & ask John about that finite of detail in the beams. From what I have seen I don't really see a difference in height of the different 2wd trucks so I don't get the 2" thing you're talking about. I don't know if there is any difference in angles on the F350's or not and I'm not sure if anyone actually does. But if there was someone who would know it would be John.

Thanks for the reminder about AutoFab I have been meaning to go by and see them anyway!
Here is a side note about heights , I never realized the difference until I rolled up next to my buddies 75 F250 and noticed the difference seemed to much to attribute to tires and so researched and came up with the info from this link.

Anyway, thanks again I appreciate all the info you guys provide.
