Toyota power steering mount

I have searched high and low and cannot seem to locate the thread that showed how to fab up a home made mount for the Toyota P/S box to the 51-52 trucks. can someone point me to it? I have my 52 F-3 down to the frame and want to get the fab work done before I paint the frame...I found a box local for $75 bucks with hoses and rag joint, going tomorrow morning to pull it!
Thanks,
w

Here you go, try this link. There's a couple drawings there but can also point you in the direction for more information.

Good luck!

Yes, edawgie's mount looks much easier to install that the heavy monster that I bought from CPP (5356PSK-T). The pictures in his gallery are great (https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gallery/displayimage.php?&photoid=234600&width=0).

Mid Fifty shows a new mount in their catalog mid p 167 designated 4620 CJ that appears to be made of steel plate rather than the heavy bar V one shown in the top illustration.

Here's one I designed a while back to be made from 1/4" thick 2x2" angle or two pieces of 2" bar stock.

Thanks AX for the info....I like this style better than the V tube style. I picked up the box today, so I will clean it up and get it ready for fab work. I am currently sand blasting the frame (wet/powerwasher) and hope to get it done in the next several days. I have ordered POR 15 which should show up in the next couple of days, so I need to get the mount fabbed up so I can start painting....
Thanks again for the design idea

Cruise,

Are you using the sandblasting adapter kit from northern tool on your pressure washer or something similar? If so can you tell me how it's working out for you. I myself am looking at buying it for my frame cleanup as well. Thanks.

I did pick up the Northern Tool sandblast tip for my power washer and will say that my experience has not been up to my expectation. I have a 5hp name brand 2400 psi washer that should be up to the task, but have found that the generic play sand has a hard time feeding through the tube. I laid a tarp out in the garage and poured, then raked the sand out all over to allow it to dry, then sifted it to be sure the sand was fine enough and still had "feed" problems. I live in the country and have a well for my water source which began to worry me as I went through a LOT of water.....I ended up going to the drill/strip disc to get the job done. I will say that when the sand flowed, it worked great, just be prepared to get sand everywhere!
Hope this helps.

Dont know if any Menards are around you guys but using their sandblasting media is a great solution to the wetness problems your having with the play sand. When I sandblasted my truck this summer I bought the media from Menards but found I was going through it rather quickly so I went and bought play sand since it was cheaper. Had the same problems you guys are with the wetness. Its worth the extra few dollars to upgrade to this stuff, its like $7 bucks a bag and works awesome.

Black Blast Blasting Sand at Menards

A frame should only need about 2-3 bags of this stuff at most.

I bought some "Black beauty" from my local rentals place, but it was too large and some of the pieces would clog the tip. I will try to find better material for some other blasting projects. As I said, when the sand would flow, it worked quite well...
Thanks for the info.
