285's with no Leveling Kit

What is going to happen if I put 285/65/18 on my truck with no leveling kit. I have read the posts that say you have to put a kit on but not the reason why. Is it just a matter of some rubbing or they just wont fit without it.

I actually have the blocks removed from the rear to give it a leveled look but still want the bigger tire on the truck.

Thanks for the feedback.

It should not rub. Should be the tallest & widest you can run on a stock setup without some rub at full lock. Post up pics when you get 'em on.
