what would cause my turn signal lights on the dash to come on and stay on with the headlights, the turn signals work properly, but the indicator lights, both left and right are illuminated with the head lights,
when head lights are off, the left signal indicator light will flash, but the right will not,

Like i said, standinig behinde and in front of the truck, the turn signals are working as they should, even kick off as should after a turn...

any idea's?

 

You need to replace both front turn signal sockets. This happens when the sockets up front lose their ground internally, and the parking light filament seeks ground in the dash through the turn signal filament. It's a very common problem.

I know this is an old thread, but would it be safe to assume that one could diagnose which socket is the bad socket by pulling the parking light bulb and checking to see if the turn signal indicator lights up?

 

Do one socket at a time. That way if its not the socket but wiring you have a definite place to start from. I just went through the same thing a couple of weeks ago.
