Difference between ASF-32P and ASF-42P sparkplugs?

Someone gave me a set of Motorcraft ASF-42P Platinum plugs for my 92 Bronco. I looked them up and they are the alternative plugs for the 302 engine. I have the 351W engine, which calls for the ASF-32P plugs as an alternative.

What's the difference between the two? Can I use the 42P plugs in my 351?

Thanks!

different heat ranges.one colder(32 vs 42).take them back and get the asf 32 cf4.these are the regular style ones.the platinum aren't worth the money and of no benefit on these trucks

There is a 99% change that your 351W has the same old D8OE heads as my 302. I don't see any issues with using them.

Edit: I am probably wrong, I was thinking of your 1985. The 1992 probably has better heads. E7's maybe?

Yea, but like I said, someone gave them to me. No place to take them back to. I normally use Autolite 25 coppers.

So which are the hotter plugs? I normally use one step hotter Autolites...it helps to keep them from fouling in my nearly 300k engine.

Yes, thanks for that graphic. Reps to you for that.

I'm running ASF32C's in Dad's truck now, although that engine was in Rusty previously. It came to me with ASF42C's and the porcelain was white. Like new. So, I dropped to the 32's and dropped the metering rod size one notch in the E'brock 1406. Still don't have enough miles on it to know if it helped or not. But, I'm also installing the E'brock A/F Ratio Meter so I can get it sorted.
