4-speed shafts

Once again my shaft is too small for the hole and I am leaking all over the place. I am pretty sure its the main shaft. its still a pretty darn tight fit, too tight for silicone sealant. I am not sure I want to use loctite but I think it needs to be thin like that. Any ideas?

Tranny

Yes my truck tranny. I used heavy oil like 130w and it still leaked out all over the floor, real mess.

Everything leaks some under my truck, ask Doc. I think of it as natural undercoating, nothing under my truck will ever rust out, my fenders and box maybe, but not my frame.

I don't thing my four speed leaks but I know my main upper rear on the engine does and the old girl leaves spot where ever I park it, the truck that is.

I will probably regret asking this, but do you have the driveshaft installed?

Does the trans use an oil "slinger" instead of a seal? (slinger is a disc with spiral grooves to direct oil away) If it is missing or installed wrong it will leak bad......could also be a crack or a bad gasket?

Historically, the most common automotive solution to deal with an undersized main shaft was to purchase a much larger truck than anyone else.

And on a cautionary note, I don't think anyone should apply loctite to their main shaft. Too many risks of unintended side effects.

my shaft

Doc, its not a slip yolk like modern cars, the yolk bolts in and is sealed (new seal). I am pretty sure its the lower shafts that come thru the housing. Dont think the smaller intermediate shafts have a slinger but even so thats not going to stop a loose fit. The old girls hole is just worn out.
