I'm in the process of putting on a rear tailgate handle back up camera with a 2011 OEM system. I have replaced the stock rear-view mirror (with the compass attached to it) and wanted to test to see if the compass in the mirror, would work and show up on my dash....well it didn't so i plugged the wires back into the stock compass to relocated it but now no reading shows up in the dash.

even when i hold the odometer for 6 seconds to change the zones, nothing happens.

wondering any troubleshoots here? did i fry something in the dash trying to connect the 2011 in mirror compass?
