This past Sunday was Matriculation day at Mary Baldwin College for the Freshman ROTC class. They performed a great color guard ceremony as the class of 2016 took their oaths and marched smartly onward. That's me, the ugly old fart looking over Sarah's shoulder.

 

When are you going to start showing us how proud you are of that girl?

Pretty obvious Sarah looks like her mom!!! Tim...she's going to do just fine...she's been raised well!!! Give them a good foundation to start with and let them spread their wings.

 

Great to actually see a pic of you and your daughter! You should be very proud. This also may not be the best time to tell you I'm a huge A's fan. Might be too soon to divulge this after the 20-2 whuppin' laid on the BoSox last series...

 

Thanks Jim...I was just beginning to get the awful vision out of my head. The worst part of it was the A's sluggers were formerly Saawx prospects.

Oh well ...wait until next year!!!

 

HAH! "Just wait until next year" has long been the saying of all us A's fans. So I've got to enjoy this year while I can. But yeah, I'll bet it was a good feeling for Reddick and Moss, not to mention former BoSox'ers Coco Crisp. Not bad for a bunch of rookies and has-beens who get paid next to nothing. A funny story that's kind of related: I coach my son's little league team and have for a few years now. During the regular season, we have always been the A's. But this year I got talked into coaching his Fall-ball team, which is kind of an informal, just for fun thing. We got issued our uniforms yesterday and I found out we are the G_ _ D_ _ _ Yankees! But I bit my tongue and handed the kids their stuff, then turned to the other asst coach (who is a die-hard BoSox fan) to hand him his NY coaches cap. He told me to keep that SOB because he hated the Yankees! I had to laugh and told him I hate 'em too and if I had to wear one, he should too. He refused and we both left laughing about it. My kid says he's tossing his in the campfire once the season is over...

 

Now that's certainly insulting!!! Anybody but the Yankmees!!!

 

Thanks guys, Sarah will do well. And yes, her looks came from mom but her work ethic and intensity came from dad.

They start softball practice next week getting ready for the season to start next February. A 40 game stretch will be fun.

And yes, the sox got the whoopin' they deserved. Reddick has been on fire and I new he would do well under different management.
