Hood or Bonnet Repair Advice

Having problems trying to figure out how to repair the plate stuck between the two bonnet skins as mine appears to have snapped meaning only one hood mounting bolt can be used on the left side of the truck.

Looking for any suggestions on the best way to approach this on my 76 F100 please.

I think it's a captured nut. Either way, you're gonna have to cut it open to fix it.

I had a similar situation but with the inner fender to which the hood hinge attaches.

I have had to cut into that part of a hood before and replace the mounting nut. I used a air powered cutting wheel. then welded it back up and painted it,

2x... cut the underside.. it wouldn't hurt to reweld or at least check the condition of the other captured nuts.

Yes, check the other nuts, when we put the cab on my truck last winter, I ran a tap though all the captured nuts in the cab, hood and front clip and add oil to then.
