Dak...sounds like more than bad luck was involved with her death. I feel for her misfortune before her demise, but the report lists excessive speed and alcohol as contributing factors.

Damn Steve, sorry buddy. Thieves suck! My house burned back in '91(July 4th) and most of what we could save we put in the separate garage. Two days later three guys broke into it and stole most everything. On the last load, my cousin saw them and call the police. They rammed the patrol car head on when he pulled in the driveway, which started a chase with them throwing my tools out of the back of the truck, trying to hit the patrol car. They ended up wrecking and all 3 were eventually caught including one by the K9. They all made bail and to this day two of them haven't been seen since. One was sentenced and served 3 months and was supposed to pay restitution but never paid a dime. I hate a thief!!! On a positive note though, I haven't been picked for jury duty involving crimes of that nature!! Any way, made it home and through the concert. Was up for 23 hours straight so a little tired. A few mishaps with fights that our Troopers stopped pretty quickly, the usual drunks and several alcohol related illnesses, but all in all. Not a bad night. Back at the campground now about to partake in what everyone else did last night! Have a good one guys!

Thanks for the thoughts.

Just wanted to say thanks to those that posted thoughts on my lovely incident this morning. I had a nice long drive to think about it on the way home and just got back a few ago.

Doug, you are correct, I world my butt off for years to build that gear collection. I remember working some massive overtime to get custom rods built and buy high end Japanese reels. Sucks ***** for sure.

Mitch, the pd gets reports of all gear that enters pawn shops. I hear the meth issue is rising around there and fishing gear is easy to sell.

Andre, I doubt I will ever see it again as well. What really sucks is two of the custom rods have blanks that are not made anymore and are by far, the best thing to happen to fishing. My rod builder was as bummed as I was and posted pics on a fishing forum when he heard about it from a friend I called this morning. I would love to have them back the most and am going to offer a reward.

Funny comment on Steve's beer lol, I agree.

Roy, thanks for the story on the thieves back in the day. That's great! We should still do it. I have a boat lol. I was/am upset but nothing I can do now other than hope it shows up. My stomach dropped when I saw the open rod lockers this morning. Flat out sucks.

Tim, thanks for the thoughts. Sucks for sure.

Steve, I agree completely. Thefts would drop drastically. Man I wish I would have caught the azz in the act. I was up late, but I imagine it happened around 0330-0430 ish. Anglers start hitting the water at 0500-0530ish and people are walking around that hotel until 0300 ish.

Darren, thanks for the warming call this morning. Much appreciate brother. Your story also cracks me up. It's a good one lol. Old beer ROR.

Jon, thanks for the thoughts.

Kerry, thanks for the thoughts. My two fav rods are one of a kind and stick out like a sore thumb. Someone will recognize them over time. Hoping those are what nabs the JA.

Dak, I have some great burglary/theft stories. I remember catching a serial burglar we have been trying to nab, while having a damn ride-along with me. The guy was breaking into a gold and pawn shop and had one of the most impressive burg tool kits I have ever seen. He had no idea I was behind him, I drew my gun out of the holster and turns on my gun mounted SureFire light. He paused and turned around slowly and backup arrived and we cuffed him. A masters student at the university.. The ride-along said it was the best job ever

Have a great night/weekend everyone.

Come on down Gerry! BTW, that Ram looked close to overloaded with the Lil Red Wagon!!!
Steve, seems the meth is getting out of hand everywhere, add that to the fact that so many people nowadays just have zero respect for anything. I completely Loathe a freakin theif....yet our new reality these days is that there are more and more of them, whether blatant theft as you experienced or other means. We recently had our Debit card info compromised, the bank actually caught it, my wife has went through everything and no major loss, but still.... I would really like to show those folks some the old hand to hand moves we used to practice in the USMC!!<IMG style="CURSOR: hand" id=vB_Editor_001_smilie_30 class=inlineimg title="Evil Grin" border=0 alt="" src="http://images.ford-trucks.com/forums/images/smilies2/evilgrin0007.gif" unselectable="on" editorid="vB_Editor_001">

Roy, you're going to be a basket case before you get the truck! I can only imagine the PITA it is to have to wait....it'll be that much sweeter when you get it though!

Dak, stay clear of them crabs!

Everyone else, hope you had a great week and will have an even better weekend, God Bless!
