Pulled Engine - 1966 Sub Vet's Truck

My son was home on leave for a couple of days so we pulled the Engine and Transmission of the project Camper Special. It was real close pulling with my cherry picker and not removing the front clip. Cleared by less than a inch! Real good time.

Now to get them rebuilt, brakes done, and engine compartment painted in time to put the engine back in next time he is home, January 2013.

Hope everyone is having a great summer,

Congrats, If you need any help or finding parts, let me know. I have found most of the good places to get parts here in Denver.

WOW! What a place to work, I have seen living rooms that weren't that nice.

Bill,
Funny you mention the gun rack. We were talking about that this weekend, if it should survive the restore. I think yes.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Try Sams Vintage Ford Parts, Sam is a great guy and if it can be found new or used he will find it.

Hey Bum,

Thanks for the lead but Sam doesn't have the gas cap, or couldn't find one (NOS or Used). So I might just be out of luck and have to go stainless.

If so, I'd remove it ASAP. Why advertise you have firearms? Lotta thieves out there, and all it take is one to spot that rack, follow you home.

The primered vented in-cab fuel cap is the same: 1951/52 all trucks / 1953/66 F100/800 / 1967/72 F100/750.

Its last updated part number: C5TZ-9030-A = No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

Very hard to find because this cap was replaced by FoMoCo 40 years ago with B6TZ-9030-A (replaced B6C-9030-A) which is chrome (reproduced). Just buy one a these then paint it.

Mr Wilson, they make good hat racks, & umbrella holders too.

Not much of an issue over here on the right coast, we see em all the time, besides that hunting season is just around the corner.
